Privacy Policy

2.1 Test Data

When you run a latency test, we store:

• The target URL
• HTTP method
• Custom headers (if provided)
• Timing metrics (DNS, TLS, connect, TTFB, download, total)
• Status codes and error types
• Test mode (preview or full)
• Test timestamps

We do not store:

• Response bodies
• API response content
• Cookies returned by the target server

You are responsible for ensuring you are authorized to test the endpoint.

2.2 Technical & Usage Data

When you use the Service, we may collect:

• IP address
• Browser type and version
• Device type
• Operating system
• Referrer information
• Interaction events (see below)

This data is used to maintain service security and stability.

2.3 Product Analytics (PostHog and Google Analytics)

We use PostHog to understand how the Service is used and to improve functionality.

We also use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people arrive on. It loads only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner, and it sets its own cookies in your browser.

Events we track may include:

• Quick check started
• Quick check completed
• Deeper check started
• Rate limit triggered
• Newsletter subscription, confirmation, and unsubscription

We do not send:

• Full target URLs with sensitive query parameters
• Authorization headers
• Response data
• API keys

PostHog may process:

• IP address (may be truncated or anonymized)
• Device and session information
• Event metadata related to Service usage

Analytics are used strictly for product improvement and service monitoring.

2.4 Requested Emails

If you ask us to email a quick-check report, we use the address only to deliver that requested transactional message.

• The email is sent through Resend
• We store a one-way hash of the address in our delivery log for duplicate prevention and abuse control
• We do not add the address to a marketing list

The message may contain the non-sensitive test target with credentials, query parameters, and URL fragments removed.

2.5 Newsletter (optional)

If you subscribe to our monthly latency report, we store your email address so we can send it to you. This is separate from the requested transactional emails above and happens only when you ask for it.

We store:

• Your email address
• When you subscribed and when you confirmed (double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm via the link in the confirmation email)
• The page and form where you subscribed, so we know which content is useful
• IP address and browser information from the signup request, for abuse prevention

Legal basis, retention, and withdrawal:

• Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a))
• Unconfirmed addresses are deleted automatically after the confirmation link expires (14 days)
• We keep the address until you unsubscribe; every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link
• You can also withdraw consent anytime via support@latencyradar.com

The newsletter list is stored on our own infrastructure. Emails are delivered through Resend. We never share or sell the list.
